This is the view today looking southwest from the Guittare House; the street is First Street, the cross streets are Cedar and Mulberry (now called Gratiot). The area south of the Gateway Arch is very industrial, with factories and warehouses. How different it is from the quiet residential neighborhood of 1804, on the southern fringe of the town of St. Louis!
