[Block 25C]
This small poteaux en terre (posts in the
earth) house was used as a blacksmith shop by Monsieur Francois
Delorier.
The site of the Delorier blacksmith shop
is today on the corner of First and Franklin streets in the
"Laclede's Landing" area. Soaring above the site is the Martin Luther
King, Jr. Bridge. This was the site of the northernmost structure
in St. Louis in 1804.
The site of the Delorier blacksmith shop
looks like this today.
