The Essential Jazz Editions
The Must Have Series for all School Jazz Programs The Essential
Jazz Editions (EJE) are a comprehensive series of accurately-transcribed
compositions and arrangements representing the breadth of the jazz
canon. Conceived jointly by jazz at Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian
Institution's National Museum of American History, and the Music
Division, Library of Congress. EJE 2000 was made possible by the
generous support from the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park
and the New Orleans Jazz Commission.
EJE provides an unprecedented educational and historical review
of the greatest jazz music of the 20th century for performance and
study by students, educators, musicians, and scholars. Beginning
in 2000, five editions will be produced each year for the next ten
years, creating a comprehensive library of seminal jazz compositions
and arrangements - a necessity for every school's jazz program and
every serious jazz musician.
