In planning your trip around Isle Royale, there are several options for pick up and drop off at points away from Rock Harbor. Reservations are required. The following is a list of possibilities. Isle Royale Resorts offers rental boats and water taxis, as well as many other services on Isle Royale.

Voyageur II

During its clockwise circumnavigation of the island, the Voyageur II provides drop off and pick up service at several areas. Please refer to the schedule.

MV Sandy

Note: all MV Sandy voyages begin at Rock Harbor

Monday
Passage Island departing at 1:30 p.m. and returning by 6:00 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Passage Island Lighthouse.

Tuesday
Hidden Lake departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 12:30 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Lookout Louise.

Captain's Cruise departing at 2:00 p.m. and returning by 5:30 p.m. Destinations such as Edisen Fishery and Rock Harbor Lighthouse or Merritt Lane.

Raspberry Island Sunset Cruise departing at 8:00 p.m. in June and July and at 7:30 p.m. in August and September and returning by sunset.

Wednesday
North Shore Tour to McCargoe Cove departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 5:30 p.m. Includes walk to Minong Mine.

Thursday
Hidden Lake departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 12:30 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Lookout Louise.

Edisen Fishery and Rock Harbor Lighthouse, departing at 2:00 p.m. and returning by 6:00 p.m.

Friday
Passage Island departing at 1:30 p.m. and returning by 6:00 p.m. Includes ranger guided walk to Passage Island Lighthouse.

Raspberry Island Sunset Cruise departing at 8:00 p.m. in June and July and at 7:30 p.m. in August and September and returning by sunset.

Saturday
Edisen Fishery and Rock Harbor Lighthouse, departing at 9:00 a.m. and returning by 1:30 p.m.

Every day
Raspberry Island Shuttle (available by reservation)

Water Charter Service

Available daily, weather dependent.

Boat Rental

Canoe, boat and motor rentals are available by the day or week at both Rock Harbor and Windigo. Kayak rentals are available for day use only at Rock Harbor and Windigo.

Lake Superior weather is cool throughout the year. For comfort on seaplane and ferry trips, bring a warm jacket with you.
