Below are the schedule and fees for the Voyageur II out of Grand Portage. The schedule is based on Central Daylight Time.
The Voyageur II travels from Grand Portage to Rock Harbor via Windigo, McCargoe Cove, and Belle Isle. It then returns from Rock Harbor to Grand Portage via Daisy Farm, Chippewa Harbor, Malone Bay, and Windigo.
Along the way are views of Rock of Ages Lighthouse and the site of the America shipwreck.
The Voyageur II will travel to Windigo and Rock Harbor for the first trips of the season on Saturday, May 8 and May 15, leaving Grand Portage at 8:00 a.m. CDT. From May 17 through September 18, the voyageur II travels on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from Grand Portage, leaving at 8:00 a.m. From September 22 through October 23, the voyageur II travels on Wednesdays and Saturdays, leaving Grand Portage at 8:00 a.m.
The first trips of the season will be Sunday, May 9 and May 16, departing Rock Harbor at 8:00 a.m. (9:00 a.m. EDT). From May 18 through September 19, the voyageur II travels on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, departing Rock Harbor at 8:00 a.m. From September 23 through October 24, the voyageur II travels on Thursdays and Sundays, departing Rock Harbor at 8:00 a.m.
Direction of Travel
During its clockwise circumnavigation of the island, the Voyageur II provides drop-off and
pick-up service at Windigo, McCargoe Cove, Belle Isle, Rock Harbor, Daisy Farm, Chippewa
Harbor, and Malone Bay.
Fares (one-way)
Grand Portage to Windigo is $50.00.
Grand Portage to McCargoe Cove/Belle Isle/Rock Harbor/Daisy Farm/Chippewa Harbor/Malone
Bay is $58.00.
Windigo to McCargoe Cove is $34.00.
Windigo to Rock Harbor is $44.00.
McCargoe Cove or Belle Isle to Rock Harbor is $34.00.
Rock Harbor to Daisy Farm, Chippewa Harbor, Malone Bay, or in-between is $34.00.
Rock Harbor or Daisy Farm to Windigo is $44.00.
Chippewa Harbor or Malone Bay to Windigo is $34.00.
Children 11 and under are $34.00.
Regular canoes and single kayaks are $28.00.
Large single, tandem kayaks are $32.00.
Large tandem, triple kayaks, call for rate.
Outboard motors (emptied of fuel) are $16.00 to $32.00.
Fuel tanks for outboard motors (emptied of fuel) are $5.00
Air Tanks are $9.00.
40 pounds of gear per passenger is FREE. Additional freight after 40 pounds is $28.00 per one hundred pounds.
