Green frog
Rana clamitans melanota
This is the most common frog in the park, found in or near call aquatic habitats except open shores of Lake Superior.The dominant color of the green frog is dark olive. The upper lip is light green, and males have bright yellow throats. Park Status Present in Park
They lay their eggs in a body of water usually in a pond, lake or in a stream in a form called a plinth. A plinth consists of several hundred eggs which is about one foot in length and about one egg thick.
The green frogs eat as much food in the day as in the night. They rely on sight to find food. They eat small bugs and spiders.
