SERVICES

School Tours and Programs
Schools are expected to continue to enhance their classroom curriculum with field trips to the
Iņupiat Heritage Center.  Tours are appropriate for all ages.  Iņupiat Heritage Center docents will lead school groups through the exhibits.  Classes may be divided into small groups to encourage student participation.  Iņupiat Heritage Center might charge a fee of $10.00 per class (up to 35 students).

Iņupiat Heritage Center will make a variety of educational opportunities available.  For families and adults, Iņupiat Heritage Center will present festivals and celebrations, along with special events relating to changing exhibitions.  Monthly programs will be designed to provide children and family members with an opportunity to creatively learn and explore topics related to the art, history, and natural sciences of the Arctic North Slope and the Iņupiat people.

"Dance into the Millennium"
We are inviting dance groups (the Nuvufmiut Dance Group practices in the Multipurpose Room on Mondays 7:00-9:30 pm) to collaborate with us and create new outfits for Kivgiq, the mid Winter Festival held in January/February 2000.

Community Gatherings
The weekly or bi-weekly events in the Traditional Room will provide a place to prepare skin boats, build sleds and process skins for boats and clothing.  The viewing room adjacent to the Traditional Room will allow visitors to observe and document activities.

Conferences and Seminars
The Multipurpose Room was designed to accommodate a wide range of groups for seminars, conferences and institutes.  The Multipurpose Room is connected to the Classroom by a movable room divider.

The Party Package
Have your child's birthday party at the Iņupiat Heritage Center!  We provide plates, cups, napkins and spoons; you bring cake, ice cream, candles, and beverages.  Upon request you can have a party host to assist you with cake, gifts, etc.  Take advantage of the space to do hands-on activities.  Enjoy an unlimited time to explore exhibits.
