192nd Battle of Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend National Military Park hosted the 192nd Anniversary of the Battle of the Horseshoe on Saturday and Sunday, 25 and 26 March 2006. This annual event recreated frontier life in the year 1814 and emphasized the importance of the battle in United States history through a variety of special demonstrations and interpretive programs. The weekend's activities provided park visitors with a better understanding of the battle participants and the reasons why the battle took place.
