Third Floor and Cupola

There are ten bedrooms on the third floor; they were primarily used as children's bedrooms. A Nanny, however, and "unimportant guests" also resided here.

the cupola The Cupola allows a splendid view of the countryside, and ventilates the house. Hot air rises up and out the windows, drawing fresh air in the windows of the lower floors.
the stairway leading to the cupolaAccess to the cupola is via a cantilevered stairway, a splendid example of the carpenter's art.
