General Management Plan

Hampton National Historic Site is developing a new General Management Plan, which will guide the development and interpretation of the park for the next ten to fifteen years. This process will take several months to complete. It is a great way for the public to express their hopes for the future of Hampton. The first public meetings, to gather ideas and concerns early in the planning process have already occurred.
Additional meetings will be scheduled soon, to present concepts for Hampton's future, based in part on the information gathered at the public scoping workshop

The June 1998 Newsletter is a good place to start learning about the Planning process. It describes the need for a general management plan, and the steps involved in implementing it.

The first public meetings were held in the fall of 1998. The Park Service has written a report of the meetings, including a summary of the public's response.

Our most recent public meeting was held on Thursday April 15, 1999 at 7:30 PM in the Towson United Methodist Church, 501 Hampton Lane. More information is available in the link below.
The second Newsletter was published and mailed in June 1999.
