The 1989 landslide exposed what appears to be an ancient landslide of unknown age seen in the center of the photo. Note how the tan horizontal sediment layers (black lines for reference) have been truncated or cut off by the failure plane (red line). Movement was apparently down and to the right. The green bushes on the hillside are about 2 feet high for scale.
