2002 Peregrine Falcon Movement |
|
| The seven falcons that were brought to Harpers Ferry from the Chesapeake Bay were released on June 4 (three males) and June 17, 2002 (four females). Three of the females were fitted with satellite transmitters prior to release. The map shows the location of the birds during the previous week. The colored dots indicate their location and correspond to the colored tape that was placed on their leg bands. Falcon 9/C was determined to be down somewhere in the Harpers Ferry area in July. Falcon 9/H went down on the southern tip of the Delmarva peninsula in late August. Their map symbols (yellow and red dots) are no longer shown on the weekly update map.
