The remains of Falcon B/B were found on August 6 on a farm west of Taneytown, MD. Based on the location of the remains, we suspect that she hit a low, thin powerline while attempting to capture a pigeon. We were able to retrieve the transmitter which we will use next year. Falcon B/A (blue dots and white arrows) moved considerably north this week, ending up on August 5 south of Providence, RI. She began her movement on July 30 near Frederick, MD, heading north into PA. Above Harrisburg, she turned northeast into New York then turned south towards New York City. On August 3, she turned due east into Connecticut south of Hartford and then into Rhode Island. Total distance she travelled this week is again 500 miles. |
