Peregrine Falcon Movement: July 19-July 23

The first movement out of the area for the two falcons since their release on June 18, occurred at the same time between July 19 and July 22. Prior to July 19, they have stayed in the Harpers Ferry area. The following is a brief description of their movement.

B/A (blue dots and white arrows) began her movement on July 19 just west of Frederick heading northwest. She turned south after reaching a point just north of I-70 in PA and flew to the WV-VA border west of Martinsburg. She headed east towards Harpers Ferry, then proceeded southeast towards the Chesapeake Bay. After reaching the Bay, she turned west ending up on July 22 south of Winchester near the interestion of I-66 and I-81.

B/B (red triangles and black arrows) began her movement on July 19 just east of Frederick. She proceeded in a southwesterly direction to an area near the WV-VA border then turned in a northwesterly direction towards Johnstown, PA. Just east of Johnstown, she turned in a southeasterly direction towards Frederick where she ended up on July 22.
