The National Park Service plans to repave sections of the Spout Run Parkway from Friday, October 17 (starting at 7 p.m.) to Monday, October 20 (ending at 5 a.m.). In case of inclement weather, an alternate weekend of Friday, October 24, to Monday, October 27, has been planned during the same hours. Work will be done from the Spout Run access lanes from George Washington Memorial Parkway, along the Spout Run Parkway, to the I-66 overpass. The traffic intersection at Lorcom Lane may be closed during all or part of the weekends listed.
Local residents and visitors should make alternate transportation arrangements during work periods. In addition, nearby residents might consider counteracting occasional loud noise levels with the sounds of home heating and cooling systems or through other methods.
