Help the Hummingbird

Roosevelt Island

This game tests your knowledge of the ruby-throated hummingbird. You can play it by yourself, but it helps to have

a friend to check the answers. Your mission: help the hummingbird migrate either from Roosevelt Island to Central

America or from Central America to Roosevelt Island. To start, put your marker either on Roosevelt Island (*) or

on Central America (*). Then toss a penny -- heads, move two spaces forward -- tails, move one space

forward. Find the question on the question sheet which matches the number on which you

have landed. Answer the question.
Ask your friend to see if you

are correct by checking the
answer sheet. If you

are correct, move two
spaces ahead. If you

are incorrect, move
one space back.

Now try to answer the question that
matches the space to which you have

moved. Ask your friend to see if you are
correct. Keep playing until you arrive at

your destination. If you learn even more about ruby-throated hummingbirds, you
can make another twelve questions and answers to challenge a friend to...

Central America
