Hiking with a group

Many groups come and enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking and other activities in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. NPS Photo - Carol Belski

At present, there are no group sites available in the backcountry, or at any of the established backcountry campgrounds. In order to accommodate groups and individuals where limited space is available, the following rules will apply with regard to backcountry use permits for organized groups (scouts, church groups, etc.).

  • Maximum Group Size - 10.
No more than 10 persons or 3 campsites will be occupied by an organized group in any backcountry campground.
  • One Group Per Campground.
Only one group will be assigned to a backcountry campground at a time.
