Currently, we are not accepting vounteer applications due to the recovery efforts required after the devastation of Hurricane Ivan. Gulf
Islands National Seashore could not operate without our Volunteers-In-Parks
program. Each year volunteers donate over 50,000 hours using their talents
and expertise to assist the National Park Service in our mission of conserving
natural and historical resources. VIPs do a variety of volunteer jobs
including working as campground hosts at the Fort Pickens Campground,
assisting visitors in the three visitor centers, painting historic cannons,
leading bird walks, monitoring sea turtles, helping with the annual International
Beach Cleanup, answering visitor information requests. The list goes on.
If you are interested in volunteering in America's largest National Seashore
please either send an e-mail message (Dick_Zani@nps.gov) or letter to
the Volunteer Coordinator, Gulf Islands National Seashore, 1801 Gulf Breeze
Parkway, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563-5000. The National Park Service has an
agreement with the
Student Conservation Association (SCA) to use student volunteers for
conservation service. At Gulf Islands National Seashore SCA volunteers
assist with a variety of natural resource projects. Find out more about volunteering for the National Park Service! |
