Fort Pickens Area

The Fort Pickens Area of Gulf Islands National Seashore is a National Park Fee-Demonstration Area. A $8.00 entrance fee for noncommercial vehicles is collected and is good for 7 days.

Langdon Beach Pavilion -Gulfside
Visitors who enjoy spending time on the beach will enjoy a picnic break out of the sun. There are several picnic tables and all are accessible to wheelchair users. Benches surround the shelter and showers,accessible bathrooms are available as well.

Langdon Beach Pavilion-Bayside
Located on the northside of island. This pavilion is available for rent for a fee. Call the National Park Reservation Service at 1-800-365-2267 or go to On-line reservations now available.

Battery Worth Pavilion
Located between the camp-store and Fort Pickens near the western end of the island is the Battery Worth Picnic Pavilion. This is located on the north-side of the island and is near the sound-side, Battery Worth, Florida Scenic Trail and the Fort Pickens Bike Path. This pavilion is also available for rent for a fee. Santa Rosa Area

The Santa Rosa Area-Opal Beach of Gulf Islands National Seashore is a National Park Fee Demonstration Area. A $8.00 fee good for 7 days is collected beginning Memorial Day to Labor Day. Six new picnic clusters are now open at Opal Beach. Each cluster includes shaded picnic tables, restrooms, outdoor showers, a boardwalk to the beach and exhibits. Facilities are accessible to wheelchair users. Of the six clusters one is located on the soundside and is free of charge. Two of the picnic clusters are available for rent from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Okaloosa Area

The Okaloosa Area is located in Okaloosa County east of Fort Walton, Florida. The section of the Gulf Islands National Seashore is a day-use area. The quiet shallow water of Choctawatchee Bay attracts visitors to picnic, swim, and sail. The picnic area has 18 tables scattered in the shade of pine trees. Each table is on a concrete pad. Perdido Key Area

The Perdido Key Area of Gulf Islands National Seashore is a National Park Fee Demonstration Area. Facilities including picnic areas are open daily from 8:00 a.m. until sunset. Although all shelters are available on a first-come first serve basis, visitor may reserve the East End Pavilion for a fee. Call the National Park Service Reservation number a 1-800-365-2267 for reservations and information. No grills are available but for those who bring their own convenient charcoal disposal bins are provided.

Naval Live Oaks Area

Access to both sound and gulf sides of the island are available to the public.  Swimming areas with outdoor showers are available as well as picnic pavilions, seasonal snack bar and store. Nearby restrooms are wheelchair accessible.  Picnic pavilions can be reserved for a fee.  Call (850) 934-2622 for reservations. If you are interested in renting a picnic pavillion, please click on Pavilion Application. If you have a youth group and would like to make reservations to camp, please click on the Naval Live Oaks reservation form. If you would like to rent the pavilion for a wedding, please click on the special use permit application.

Notes: Perdido Key (Johnson Beach) and Santa Rosa (Opal Beach) are both day use facilities. Both areas close at Sunset. All pavilions must be vacated one hour prior to closing. *This facility was previously rented as one pavilion, it is now rented as two (a restroom separates the pavilions). Santa Rosa #5 and #6 are the last two clusters past the interior gate. **This facility was previously rented as one pavilion, it is now rented as two (a wall separates the pavilions).
