Coyote
Canis Latrans (photo)
Trotting along in a small group or individually, the coyote is a familiar
presence on the sand sheet landscape. As an ecological opportunist, they
feed on whatever is available, kangaroo rats, jackrabbits, and sometimes
even succulent plants and their berries. They are sometimes found partaking
on the leftovers of a mountain lion kill.
