Noel: Well, I have never seen that photograph. It was. . . my dad. . . we were interested in this fellow by the name of Ollie Handy. Ollie Handy—I worked for Ollie when I was a kid.

BH: Um hum.

Noel: And I think I got the job for Ollie because granddad and Ollie became very good friends, and he said that I could come haul water for him. . .

BH: Um hum.

Noel: And you know how they had those old. . . those old stoves. Remember the old kitchen stoves with a. . . with a water. . .

BH: Had a water heater on the side?

Noel: It was my job to keep it filled up. And also I was supposed to bring in the wood. So I'd go down there. But he said, "Now, you can come down and work for me. . . every night, you come down. But you come by yourself." And he said, what happens there, is, he said, "One boy is one boy—two boys is half a boy—and three boys is no boys at all." And that was it.

BH: (laughs) That's a great saying.
