BH: Yeah, there's a fewa few stories around.
Ruth: Well, we got into it, but I didn't do that again, believe me. And afterBen and I were coming down late one evening, and we saw a mountain lion, a big old mountain lion lying under some tall pine trees. Just as calm as could be, just surveying the whole countryside. And Ben, Ben saidI was scared to death to walk down past ithe said, "If you act scared, she's going to know you're scared." So we just walked very sedately past that old lion, and she just never gave us a. . . stared at us, but didn't bother us at all. That was ah, kind of frightening. Had I been with Cora or by myself, I would have probably started running, and maybe. . . challenged her, but ah. . . And that same trip, we decided it was a beautiful night, and the moon was full and brightthat we'd go climb on the dunes. And we had to walk down through the brush and trees to get to the creek. And then cross the creek. So we decided we'd take our shoes and socks off on the east side of the creek. And, so we wouldn't get 'em wetand then we'd just go barefooted onwhich we did. And we climbed way up, and I don't know how far out in the dunesbut, it was so pretty, and we sat on top of a dune, and were singing and just enjoying it. And then we wentstarted backand we couldn't find where we crossed the creek. We couldn't find our shoes. So we had to walk barefooted the rest of the way to camp, and then the next morning. . . followed our tracks down to the creek, and found our shoes.
BH: Barefoot through the brush. . .
Ruth: Yes. . . rocks and. . . That was a wonderful trip.
