Paleo-Indian Evidence
- most is [probably] 2000-1000 years old
- in fire pits [we] look for:
fire-cracked rock
burned bone
- screening out a fire pit
- looked for flakes and found 1
- found lots of charcoal and pine nuts
- excavated the fire pit
- [found] lots of charcoal
- very shallow [hearth]
- found some [possible] fire-cracked rock
- the charcoal broke up easily
- it was shimmery.
- we found 2 flakes in the fire pit
