The programs generally last from 45 minutes to one hour in length. If you are interested in scheduling a program or would like more information, please contact the Education Specialist.

A Brand is Forever

Why do ranchers brand their livestock? How long have people been branding animals? How do you even read a brand? These questions and more will be answered with this hands-on inquiry-based program. By studying a variety of museum objects students will gain a better understanding of the history of branding and why it is such an important aspect of a ranchers job. Also, through a variety of hands-on activities, students will have the opportunity to design their own brands and discover why it may not be as easy as some people may think.
