The Bunkhouse Kitchen Over the years, several cooks were hired at the Kohrs Ranch; a few were Chinese, and some were "retired" cowboys. The cook's day began before sunrise and ended after sunset. The Bath House In the 1930's, Con Warren added electricity and plumbing to bunkhouse row. Cowboys worked up a sweat on the ranch, especially during haying. The washroom saved them a trip to town for a shower, shave, and laundry. One of the rules of the ranch was a cowboy had to bathe once a week, whether he needed to or not. |
