WELCOME

to the Colorado River Management Plan Scoping Meetings! As we begin this exciting and challenging planning process, we look to the desired conditions for managing the Colorado River through Grand Canyon. Those conditions are not only determined by managers (through enabling legislation, guiding principles, and objectives), but are also cultivated from values expressed by you, the American public. We are pleased that you are here to share your ideas.

Stay Involved During the next six months, the IDT will be conducting the comment analysis. This involves reading each comment, sorting by issue category, and weighing suggested solutions against management objectives and guiding principles. Once this process is complete, we will have identified the key issues. The next step of the process is to further evaluate suggested solutions and work towards developing alternatives for specific issues. This is where you can again become involved. Please share your ideas on how to continue public involvement in the process. Express these ideas at the closing session or in writing; mail to the Team Leader, address can be found on the Planning Team Page. Soundings will serve as a tool for communicating on the planning process, and will be distributed as needed to provide updates. As a workshop participant, your name will be added to the newsletter mailing list.
