Education and Research

Here at Golden Spike National Historic Site education and research is a large part of our work and mission. At "teacher's packet" teachers can look over materials for the classroom and chose those that fit their class best. At "oral histories" you can read first hand accounts of those who lived during the transcontinental railroad period. This will be a big benefit for those who need primary resources. Also keep checking back we plan to add new oral histories as often as we can. At "articles" you can read articles written from research of historic records. This site will also grow as more articles are added. At "historic research" you will find research papers with mostly primary sources and with documentation of where they were found. This site will also grow as more papers are added. At "student" we will try to put articles that can help the student in studying the Transcontinental Railroad. This site will also grow as new articles for students are added. These pages will not only be helpful to the teacher, student or researcher but also to those who would like to get a better understanding of history during this period of time.
