WESTERN MONTANA INCIDENT MANAGEMENT TEAM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MOOSE
FIRE, Columbia Falls, MT, Sept.
23, 2001
FIRE CAMP FLIES OLD FAITHFUL! After the September 11th terrorist attacks, American flags have been in short supply. Many firefighters staying in the Moose Fire camp outside of Columbia Falls wanted to show the colors but attempts to order flags were unsuccessful. Finally, Mike Dugan, a firefighter working in ordering at the camp, contacted the Kalispell Veterans of Foreign Wars. Doug Dall of the local chapter made some phone calls and rounded up 40 small American flags. The flags were transported to the camp and distributed throughout. Thanks to the generosity of the Kalispell Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Moose Fire camp is able to join the rest of the nation in showing our pride and thanksgiving for our country. In a related story, firefighters on the Moose Fire joined thousands of Americans across the country in lighting lights of solidarity at 8 p.m. last Tuesday. |
