St. Mary Lake

St. Mary Lake is the large lake on the eastern end of the Going-to-the-Sun Road. Incredible mountain views greet the traveler to this scenic roadway. It is easy to see why native tribes refered to this, and Lower St. Mary Lake just outside the park, as the "Walled in Lakes."
