scientists at FLBS are currently collaborating with the CCRLC on several
research topics of interest to park managers: 1) understanding the effects
of fire on watersheds, 2) use of hydrologic models for resource management,
3) baseline assessment of native fish habitat. They have participated
in CCRLC Roundtable discussions and we are partnering on research applications
proposals to solicit funds to support joint efforts to develop decision
support tools for park managers. |

Protection Agency Climate Friendly Parks Program Washington, DC Contact: Karen Scott, Communications Specialist 202-564-3482 karen.scott@epamail.epa.gov The CCRLC co-organized a joint EPA/NPS workshop that was held December 9-10 in Kalispell, MT. This partnership combines the EPA's global change educational activities with the NPS's sustainability efforts, spearheaded by Shawn Norton out of the WASO office. The partnership is expected to be ongoing as the workshop outcome involved a variety of follow-up activities that will be supported through this program. |

Center for Agricultural, Resource and Environmental Systems (CARES) CARES works collaboratively with CCRLC on research and educational projects of mutual interest, including: 1) assessing the ecological and economic impacts of future landscape change in Flathead County, 2) developing research proposals that address enhancing the capacity of park managers to identify and evaluate potential impacts of climate change, and develop best management actions to counteract undesirable impacts of climate change in the Crown of the Continent ecosystem, and 3) developing a book on science, management and public policy for sustaining landscapes in the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem.
