Below Road Camp - April 21

The rotary working below Road Camp.

Photo by Blase Reardon, USGS, and Mark Dundas, NPS.

The rotary continues to eat its way through the remaining debris in The Slopes Below Road Camp. The gully below the road shows evidence that a avalanche ran well below the road this winter. Note the wall of snow on the left lateral edge of the gully and the debris in the terminus of the gully.

View of a glide crack that is mid-slope in The Slopes Below Road Camp. The 6’ long skis show that the snow on the left side of this image has creeped approximately 15’ downhill.
