Swede Point - April 12


 


The D-7 CAT removes debris below Swede Point. The D-7 weighs in at a hefty 27 tons and is the initial tool of choice when avalanche debris is encountered.

The dozer is used to level, or bench, debris and wind drifted snow. Generally the excavator, rotary and loader are used to remove the remaining snow.

The D-7 CAT pioneering through the avalanche chute. Note that the rock wall in the middle of the path is missing the top 1-2 layers of rock. This is the result of avalanche damage.
