The Big Drift Viewed from the East Side. During the pioneering, several large chunks of snow clung to the rocks above the cut, posing a significant hazard to the crew. They were able to knock them down using the west side excavator. The photo below shows a truck-sized chunk breaking up as it starts tumbling downhill. |
