Going-to-the-Sun Road
Plowing Photos and Videos of 2004

Near Red Rock Slide - April 7

Typically one of the major impediments to spring plowing, the Red Rock Slide was smaller than normal.

The following pictures are of an avalanche 18 miles east of the park entrance that originated from Heaven's Peak. The debris filled avalanche, filled McDonald Creek, crossed the Going-to-the-Sun Road, and then ran up hill on the other side. This is only the second time such a slide in this area has occurred.
