Clearing the Going-to-the-Sun Road - Sept. 12, 2005

On the weekend of September 9-11, a storm moved into the park bringing snow and rain. Granite Park Chalet received 2 feet of snow, Fifty Mountain campground received 4 feet of snow, and Sperry Chalet received nearly 20 inches. 10-12 inches of snow fell at Logan Pass. Wet and heavy snow brought down over 100 trees between Avalanche and The Loop.

Visitors should always be prepared and dress appropriately, as snow storms can occur at any time during the year.
