Oberlin Bend Overlook - August 25, 2005

Oberlin Bend Overlook (543kb)
From this vantage point, the Garden Wall and the Continental Divide can be seen with a dusting of fresh snow. Also seen, is the engineering feat of the Going-to-the-Sun Road that was carved through these powerful mountains. For years, it has provided visitors with access through Glacier's spectacular high country. The Highline Trail, seen running parallel and above the Going-to-the-Sun Road, provides visitors wishing to travel on higher ground by foot, the opportunity to see and experience mountain goats, bighorn sheep, marmots, and wildflowers like bear grass, indian paintbrush, and glacier lilies.
