Along the Going-to-the-Sun Road - August 25, 2005

Near the east tunnel on the Going-to-the-Sun Road (698kb)
Taken at a pullout on the Going-to-the-Sun Road near the east tunnel, this panorama shows deep "U" shaped valleys that were carved and shaped by glaciers. Starting left to right, the dominant mountains in the scene include, Going-to-the-Sun Mountain (which the Going-to-the-Sun Road was named after), Heavy Runner Mountain, Reynolds Mountain (also known as a horn), and Clements Mountain (looks like a gorilla looking upward). Below Clements Mountain, the Logan Pass Visitor Canter can be seen.

Hold down your mouse button on the image and move left and right to navigate.
The - and + buttons below the panorama allow you to zoom in and out of the image.
