Hole in the Wall - August 23, 2005

Hole in the Wall (544kb)
The cirque known as Hole in the Wall, is evidence of an ancient glacier that carved out and shaped this part of Glacier's wild and scenic backcountry. Hole in the Wall can been seen to the left of the trail, below and left of the sandy colored glacial moraine on the right hand side of this panorama. The popular backcountry campground lies in the bottom of this bowl shaped landscape and provides campers with running streams, waterfalls, and unparalleled scenery of mountains such as Thunderbird Mountain, seen towering over visitors on the far left side of this panorama.
