Logan Pass - June 25, 2006


It was a beautiful day at Logan Pass. The weather was warm and sunny, visitors were cheery, and the scenery was spectacular.

With warm weather upon us, the snow is starting to recede.

Even though the snow is starting to recede in places, there remains plenty of it for those who like to summer ski. (not sure what the green snow is all about)

Where bare ground is exposed, a Glacier Lilly emerges. This delicate flower has a short growing season in the alpine. Please protect all fragile vegetation by staying on sidewalks and boardwalks.

Columbia Ground Squirrels were scurrying around among visitors, feasting on lush vegetation. These little critters hibernate early in the alpine, and emerge late in the year.
