Clements Mountain in the distance at Logan Pass. Snow levels still remain high at Logan Pass, and proof of harsh winters at this elevation can be seen in this wind-blown sub-alpine fir.

Looking east at Going-to-the-Sun Mountain from Logan Pass. As the temperature increases and the snow melts, the rest of these sub-alpine firs will be revealed.

Logan Pass Visitor Center parking lot. Temperatures were in the low 60s with a slight breeze. They sky was a perfect cobalt blue.

The effects of the 2003 fires can be seen here as a black bear feeds on much needed vegetation in preparation for next winter. The fires have provided new growth of various plant species, as well as the emergence of wildlife into areas that were previously unoccupied.
