The moist shady environment characteristic to this forest, lends the perfect growing conditions for Foam Flowers. This family member of the forest is predominately found in the northern Rockies of the United States as well as in British Columbia and Alberta in Canada, blooming between the months of June and August. The frothy appearance of its white cluster of flowers is as delicate as the rain-drops that feed it. | |

If you were to look up while in this dense forest, you would see filtered views of the sky through the canopy of trees. The canopy provides an element of security and shelter for forest residents. During hot days, the canopy provides much needed shade, keeping the forest floor cool. When Glacier experiences days of precipitation, the canopy suddenly becomes a much welcomed umbrella.
