GETTYSBURG: THE SOLDIERS' BATTLE

A Live Broadcast For Students and Teachers
from Gettysburg National Military Park

My sore feet!On May 3, 2000, the National Park Service, in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Great Falls Communications of Oakton, Virginia, broadcast "Gettysburg: The Soldiers Battle" live to schools all across the United States. Gettysburg National Military Park estimates that we reached over 300,000 students all across America during our live one-hour broadcast from the battlefield.

One special activity was for students to write in notebooks provided through the park web site, and then to submit the completed journals to the park. We have received numerous journals from students who took part in the broadcast. We're pleased and happy to be able to post some of these notebooks on the park web site for others to enjoy. Click on each student's name to read their journal entries!
