"June 6th. Satterday-
We left camp at Stafford Cort house. The wether is fine. I came off gard and had to pack up and march at four oclock. We had a thundershower as we left camp. We marched all night."

"June 7th, Sunday-
We marched 40 miles from 4 oclock Satterday till Sunday night till half past three and then lay down till four when we marched one mile and stacked arms till 10 oclock and marched all day and arived within one mile of Beals station. That was 40 miles from 4 oclock Satterday till tonight."

"June 9th, Tuesday-
We started this morning and marched to Beverley Ford [Beverly Ford on the Rappahannock River] that was two miles from whar we encamped last night. About 11 oclock we armed the ford and skirmished with them till night and then we recrossed that was a hard fight." [This was the Battle of Brandy Station]

"June 16th, Tuesday-
It is very hot today. We lay in camp at Centrevill today whar we halted yesterday. We got plenty of Cheries to eat up in the vilage. Most of our riggment is on picket. I am not on picket today."

"June 29th, Monday-
We left Fredckric [Frederick, Maryland] & marched Ademsvill and Utica & Ademsdale & Craigerstown to Emmitburg. The roads was very mudy and hard marching."

"June 30th, Tuesday-
We lay in camp near Emmitburg till about night when we marched about three miles nearer the town and encamped. It is dull and rainy."
