Stewardship in Action
A Program About Acid Mine Drainage & Water Quality

The material in "Stewardship in Action" was developed for middle school and high school students. The material covers standards outlined in the Pennsylvania Academic Standards for Environment and Ecology.

The guide and workbook were developed to be used in conjunction with a site visit to Friendship Hill National Historic Site. To obtain copies of the books, please call 724-725-9190. The workbooks are structured with pre-visit information and exercises, the park visit and follow-up activities. It is important that the students have read the pre-visit information and completed the pre-visit activities before they come to the park for their program. While on site for your class's program you will be given an evaluation. Please take the time to complete it and return it to the park.
