The House That Ranger Dave Built  Site Map

A Tour of Fort Union - NPS WebRanger Site

Dave Carr is a Park Ranger working as a Museum Aid. This means he works in the basement of Fort Union's museum, looks at the things the archeologists found and figures out what they are. He also helps with our Living History events, dressed as a fur trader.

At night however, he changes into the Master Builder, and has created a Lego(r) model of Fort Union's Bourgeois House.

He worked on the house for most of the summer of 2004. Notice the Park Ranger on the first floor porch, and all five of the American Fur Company bourgeois (managers) on the top porch.

The Bourgeois are, from left to right, Kenneth McKenzie, Alexander Culbertson, Edwin Denig, James Kipp, and Charles Larpenteur. However, some of us think that Mr. Larpenteur is really Dave.
