Each park site has a bookstore offering interpretive material for sale. These bookstores are operated by Eastern National, a non-profit cooperating association. Eastern National was charted by Congress in 1947 to aid in telling the stories of the various national parks. A percentage of proceeds from all bookstore sales are donated to the park’s interpretive programs. Each facility has a number of high quality resources to help you answer more in-depth questions. Also, many of the items make excellent gifts. Since inception, Eastern National has contributed more than $70.7 million to the Nation Parks. No admission fee is required to reach any of the Eastern National bookstores, however if you use the ferry to reach Fort Sumter, you must pay for this service. Private boaters are welcome.
