This position is located within the Division of Administration at Fort Stanwix National Monument.
Major Duties
The volunteer will assist the administrative staff with general tasks such as answering routine phone and mail inquires, preparing mailings, filing, recording statistical data, and general computer work. The volunteer will also assist in greeting visitors to park headquarters and directing them to the correct staff people. Specialized projects such as desktop publishing may be available as well.

Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to work harmoniously with people.
Basic computer skills.
General knowledge and familiarity with basic computer programs.
Supervisory Controls
Volunteer receives assignments and general supervision from the park's Visitor Services staff, who will provide guidance and coaching in connection with the Administrative Staff. While members of these staffs are generally available, the volunteer will have to act independently, using initiative and judgement.
Guidelines
Consists of orientational materials and general performance standards.
Personal Contacts
Contacts are generally with the park Visitor Services and Administrative Staffs and other park volunteers. There may be some contact with the general public as well.
Physical and Other Requirements/Work Environment
Good physical health, emotional and mental stability, unimpaired speech. There are periods of prolonged sitting. Work Environment is indoors.
