Self Guided Program

"The Oneida Carry and Fort Stanwix"

Park Visit:

What to Expect

A few things to remember before your visit: First, most of your visit will involve being outdoors for periods of time, Please ask students to dress for the weather. Second, remember to allow some extra time for the bookstore if you wish to use it. Tax is charged at 8% (8 cents on the dollar). Third, an Educational Fee Waiver is available to recognized educational groups; this needs to be discussed prior to your visit. No Fee Waivers will be granted without prior arrangements!

Before entering the Fort, please congregate all of the students in one place and review the visitation rules before splitting into smaller groups (if desired). We would like everyone to have fond memories of their visit with us.

It is important to remember that there will probably be several other students in the Fort at the same time as your group. Make sure that all of your chaperons know what time your group is scheduled to leave the park so that no one is left behind. There must be 1 adult chaperon for every 10 students (age 17 and under). The students must stay with their chaperons for the entire length of their stay at the Fort.
