Introduction:

Although we don't know where Washington went to school or who taught him we are fortunate to have some of his school lessons. These can tell us some about his schooling

Materials:

Procedure:

1. Ask the students "If someone is a president of a big company, or a state governor, or even the president of the United States, do you think they probably graduated from high school? From college?" Then ask, "Do you think they would NEED to have this kind of education?"
2. Tell the students "George Washington had very little education compared to most of the leaders in his day."
