Bulletin Board Ideas

  1. Forks of the Ohio Map

    1. Display a map of the Forks of the Ohio area
    2. Write the events of the French and Indian War on index cards
    3. Attach a piece of string to each index card
    4. Place a supply of stick pins by the bulletin board
    5. Students match the event with its location on the map using the string

  2. People of the French and Indian War

    1. Display pictures and names of people on the bulletin board
    2. Make three pockets across the bottom of the display
    3. Label the pockets French, British and Native American
    4. Put cards describing different people in the pockets
    5. Places s supply of push pins near the bulletin board
    6. Student match descriptions with pictures on the board

  3. Three Nations of soldiers

    1. Enlarge and color pictures of French and British soldiers and Native American warrior
    2. Label

  4. Illustrated Time Line

    1. Use the time line in the teacher’s guide to write the events of the French and Indian War on index cards
    2. Have the students illustrate the events
    3. Display the events in order on the bulletin board

  5. Three Nations

    1. Display symbols of three nations: e.g. A French flag, a British flag and a tomahawk
    2. List facts under each symbol such as populations, locations, what each group wanted

  6. Wampum

    1. Make wampum out of paper using different symbols
    2. Have student write stories to go with the wampum
    3. Display stories near wampum
